Oil Filter Housing, Remove And Install (Z 17 DTH, With Air Conditioning, LHD)

  Remove

Important:   On vehicles with ESP - the steering angle sensor loses its basic adjustment each time the battery is disconnected. It must be recalibrated
1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach ground cable
3.   Drain coolant
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Open coolant drain bolt

4.   Loosen air intake pipe (1)
•   Release clamp
•   Unscrew 2 bolts

5.   Detach 2x heating hose (1)
•   From heater radiator
Object Number: 2408146 Size: DEFAULT


6.   Remove oil filter element
•   Unscrew oil filter housing cover (1)
Object Number: 2411058 Size: DEFAULT


7.   Detach return hose of oil filter housing cover (1)
•   Release clamp
Object Number: 2412677 Size: DEFAULT


8.   Detach 2x coolant hose (1)
•   From heat exchanger
Object Number: 2411125 Size: DEFAULT


9.   Remove oil filter housing
•   Place collecting basin underneath.
•   Remove bolt (1)
10.   Clean sealing surface
Object Number: 2411126 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

11.   Install oil filter housing
•   Replace 2x seal ring
•   Tighten banjo bolt 25.5 Nm
12.   Attach oil filter housing return hose
•   Fasten clamp
13.   Install oil filter element
•   Tighten oil filter housing cover 25 Nm
14.   Attach 2x coolant hose
•   To heat exchanger
15.   Attach 2x heater hose
•   To heater radiator
16.   Fasten air intake pipe
•   Tighten 2 bolts
•   Fasten clamp
17.   Close coolant drain bolt
18.   Top up coolant
•   Observe specified coolant quantity
19.   Check and correct engine oil level
•   Observe specified engine oil quantity
20.   Connect battery
21.   Close bonnet
22.   Program volatile memory
