Replace roof (glass fibre-reinforced plastic)
 Remove
| 1. |
Remove attachments
Note: On model L68 with
curtain airbag, remove curtain airbag 
|
| 2. |
Remove sliding glass roof complete
|
|
| 3. |
Attach front screen rubber seal in area of roof with adhesive
tape at the front
|
|
|
| 4. |
Remove 4x covers (1) for roof rack holder
|
| 5. |
Remove 4x roof rack holder (2)
|
|
|
| 6. |
Remove roof
Important: To avoid paint damage,
mask off adjacent painted surfaces!

Cut away roof all round with MKM-589-B
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!

|
|
| 7. |
Take out roof
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!
|
| 8. |
Cut adhesive bead on roof holding flange

Back-cut adhesive bead to around 1
mm with a suitable tool
|
|
|
|
| 9. |
Repair any paint damage
| • |
Touch up paint damage with body-coloured paint pen
|
|
Install
| 10. |
Insert roof
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!

| 11. |
Adjust roof to fit
| • |
Adapt roof to fit and mark installation position
|
|
| 12. |
Take out roof
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!
|
| 13. |
Apply adhesive bead
| • |
Transfer adhesive to flange all round using the enclosed
triangular spatula
|
|
|
|
| 14. |
Insert roof
Note: 2nd mechanic
required!

Attach roof
| • |
Attach roof with suitable tool
|
|
| 16. |
Note standing time
Note: At least 24 h at
room temperature!

Attach seal to sliding glass roof
|
|
| 19. |
Install sliding glass roof complete
|
| 20. |
Fit attachments
Note: On model L68 with
curtain airbag, install curtain airbag
