Front Seat Backrest Pad, Replace - L08

1.   Remove front seat
Note:   Observe waiting time for airbag deactivation, 1 min.
2.   Remove head restraint
•   Release head restraint in direction of arrow, and withdraw upwards

3.   Detach adjustment handle (1) on front seat backrest
•   Unclip adjustment handle panel (2) with suitable tool
•   Unclip front seat backrest adjustment handle

4.   Detach height adjuster panel (1)
•   Unclip panel with a suitable tool
5.   Detach height adjuster (2)
•   Unscrew bolt (3) and remove lever

6.   Remove side airbag
7.   Uncover airbag cable harness
•   Detach 2x cable tie
•   Expose wiring harness from seat backrest
8.   Detach lever (1) with panel (2) on front seat backrest
•   Unscrew bolt (3)

9.   Remove front seat backrest
•   Detach 2x tension strap
•   Unscrew 4x bolt (1, 3)
•   Release and unclip Bowden cable (2)

10.   Remove guide sleeves
•   Bend release hook for guide sleeves out of conventional wire (diameter 1.5 - 2 mm) as shown
– I = 70 mm
– II = 70°
– III = 10 mm
– IV = 160 mm
•   Mark insert depth of 140 mm
•   Insert release hook at front, release guide sleeve and withdraw upward

11.   Remove upholstery covering for seat backrest
•   Detach upholstery covering from seat mount all the way round
•   Remove 11x upholstery clamps
•   Remove upholstery covering
12.   Replace upholstery pad

  Install

13.   Insert pad
14.   Attach upholstery covering for seat backrest
•   Fit upholstery covering
•   Attach 11x upholstery clamps
•   Fasten upholstery covering to seat mount all the way round
15.   Install head restraint guide sleeves
•   Audibly engage
16.   Install front seat backrest
•   Tighten 4x bolt
•   Attach and clip in Bowden cable
•   Attach 2x tension strap
17.   Attach lever with panel on front seat backrest
•   Insert in guide
•   Tighten the bolt
18.   Lay airbag cable harness
•   Lay wiring harness on seat backrest
•   Attach 2x cable ties
19.   Install side airbag
20.   Fit height adjuster lever
•   Tighten the bolt
21.   Fit height adjuster lever panel
22.   Install head restraint
23.   Install adjusting wheel for front seat backrest
•   Clip in 3x
24.   Attach adjuster wheel panel
25.   Install front seat
