Identification

Packaging for cable connectors and shrink-down plastic tubes are marked red (8), blue (9), yellow (10) or green (11) and can thus be matched to the handle colours of the correct crimping tool.

Note:  The shrink-down plastic tubes for the cable cross-section 0.35 mm 2 are identical to those for cable cross-sections 0.5 / 0.75 / 1.0 mm 2 and are therefore marked red (8).

The wiring harness plugs with lead ends provided for wiring harness repair can be obtained as spare parts from the "Aftersales" division and are delivered as a complete package (1). The standard package contains:

Wiring harness plug

The wiring harness plugs (2) available for the respective model version are listed in section 5 - Survey of Wiring Harness Plugs and Reference Lists. Communising with TIS2000 CD 39 this information is issued with the TIS 2000 wiring diagram application.

Rubber grommet

If the cable is difficult to move when sliding on the rubber grommet (3), coat the cable with silicone oil and carefully expand rubber grommet with commercially available three-pronged pliers.

Sealing plug for water-tight wiring harness plugs

Chambers of the wiring harness plug that are not occupied are provided with sealing plugs supplied (4).

Secondary lock

For wiring harness plugs with a secondary lock (5), the locking spring at the spring contact is only used as an installation aid. The spring contacts are actually locked by the secondary lock.

Spring contacts with lead ends

The cables of lead ends (6) are always "white" to differentiate them from series production cables.

The length is 50 to 75 cm, which enables the position of the different crimps to be varied when repairing multiple cables on a single wiring harness plug, thus essentially retaining the same cross-section for the entire wiring harness.

When replacing individual spring contacts with lead ends, the corresponding spring contacts must be released with the appropriate release tool according to section 5 "Parts and Reference Lists" and the replacement spring contacts must be introduced into the series wiring harness plugs.

Note:  The wiring harness plugs provided for repairs are used in all models, albeit with a different cable occupancy, therefore it is possible that individual repair sets contain more cables than are needed for a specific repair.
