Parking Brake Cable – Front, Remove and
Install
 Remove
| 1. |
Detach parking brake lever gaiter (arrow)

Remove gaiter from parking brake lever
|

| 2. |
Detach parking brake cable from parking brake lever
| • |
Remove protective cap (2)
|
| • |
Unscrew nut (1)
Note: To remove the
parking brake cable front, place the parking brake lever in
position "0" (released).

|
| 3. |
Remove fuel tank heat shield
Note: On vehicles with
diesel particle filter: also detach heat shield for exhaust
system

Release 2x brackets (2)
|
|
|
|
| 4. |
Remove front parking brake cable (1) from compensator
| • |
Remove front parking brake cable with protective sleeve
|
|
|
|
Install
| 5. |
Pull front parking brake cable with protective sleeve
|
| 6. |
Attach protective sleeve to parking brake lever support
plate.
|
| 7. |
Hook parking brake cable into parking brake cable compensator
and twist by 90°
Note: Ensure that the
T-piece at the front end of the parking brake cable is seated
correctly in the parking brake cable compensator.

Hook front of parking brake cable on to parking brake lever
|
| 10. |
Screw in adjusting nut loosely
|
| 11. |
Parking Brake, Adjust
