Coolant flange, remove and install > < Cylinder Block, Check for Plane Surface

Remove and install coolant pipe

  Remove

1.   Remove turbocharger
2.   Detach fuse holder from battery
•   Open cover
•   Detach bracket from positive terminal
– Unscrew bolt (1)
•   Unclip fuse holder (arrows) and place aside

3.   Detach positive connection from battery
•   Undo nut
4.   Remove battery
•   Loosen battery bracket (1)
– Loosen bolt (2)

5.   Remove battery support.
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (2)
•   Unclip pre-heating system control unit (1)
– Unclip 4x pre-heating system control unit wiring harness (3)
•   Unclip wiring harness plug (4)
•   Unclip 2x starter wiring harness (6)
•   Unclip fuse holder wiring harness (5)
•   Unclip ground cable (7)

6.   Detach coolant hose between thermostat housing and radiator (1) from thermostat housing
•   Release clamp

7.   Detach heat exchanger coolant return hose from coolant pipe (1)
•   Release clamp
Object Number: 10678265 Size: DEFAULT


8.   Remove coolant pipe (1)
•   Detach coolant pipe from cylinder block
– Unscrew bolt (2)
•   Detach coolant pipe from thermostat housing
– Unscrew bolt
•   Draw coolant pipe out of coolant flange in direction of arrow
•   Unclip vacuum hose
•   Detach coolant hose between coolant pipe and thermostat housing flange (3) from coolant pipe
– Release clamp

  Install

9.   Install coolant pipe
•   Attach coolant hose between coolant pipe and thermostat housing flange to coolant pipe
– Fasten clamp
•   Clip in vacuum hose
•   Insert coolant pipe into coolant flange
– Replace sealing ring
•   Attach coolant pipe to cylinder block
– Tighten bolt 95 Nm
•   Attach coolant pipe to thermostat housing
– Tighten bolt 24 Nm
10.   Attach heat exchanger coolant return hose to coolant pipe
•   Fasten clamp
11.   Attach coolant hose between thermostat housing and radiator to thermostat housing
•   Fasten clamp
12.   Install battery holder
•   Clip in fuse holder wiring harness
•   Clip in 2x starter wiring harness
•   Clip in wiring harness plug
•   Clip in pre-heating system control unit
– Clip in 4x pre-heating system control unit wiring harness
•   Tighten 3x bolts
•   Clip in ground cable
13.   Install battery
•   Fasten battery bracket
– Tighten bolt
14.   Attach positive connection to battery
•   Tighten nut
15.   Attach fuse holder to battery
•   Clip in fuse holder
•   Attach bracket to positive terminal
– Tighten bolt
•   Close cover
16.   Install turbocharger
