Replace EGR valve > < Damage diagnosis, dual mass flywheel

Cylinder Head Cover, Remove and Install

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Undo nut
3.   Unclip coolant hose (2)
4.   Disconnect 3 wiring harness plugs
•   Camshaft sensor (1)
•   Coolant temperature sensor (4)
•   Oil pressure switch (5)
5.   Unclip wiring trough (3) from cylinder head cover
•   Set aside wiring trough to the rear

6.   Detach ignition module
•   Detach ignition module cover
– Shift ignition module cover to the right
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
•   Remove with ignition module KM-6009 (1)
Note:   Do not tilt.

7.   Remove cylinder head cover
•   Detach 2x engine vent hose
– Undo 2x clamps
•   Unscrew 13x bolts

  Install

8.   Clean sealing surface
9.   Attach cylinder head cover (1)
•   Replace gasket (2) and seal rings
•   Apply sealant (dimension I = 2 mm)
Note:   Complete assembly work within 10 minutes.

10.   Tighten 13x bolt in the tightening sequence
•   Tightening torque 8 Nm .

11.   Attach 2x engine vent hose
•   Attach 2x clamps
12.   Attach ignition module
•   Unscrew KM-6009 in 2 places
•   Tighten 2x bolts
– Tightening torque 8 Nm .
•   Fix wiring harness plug
•   Attach ignition module cover to cylinder head cover
13.   Install engine management wiring harness
•   Lay wiring harness
•   Clip in wiring trough
•   Connect 3 wiring harness plugs
14.   Connect battery
15.   Program volatile memories
16.   Close bonnet
