Engine Control Unit, Remove and Install
Important: When
returning a replaced control unit to Opel, do not clear the fault
memory.
Note: The security
code must be reset using TECH 2 when replacing or interchanging the
engine control module (before removal).
Remove

Read out control unit data with TECH 2
• |
Connect TECH 2 with diagnostic plug

• |
Establish communication with TECH2
|
• |
End communication with Tech 2
|
• |
Disconnect TECH 2 from diagnostic plug
|
|
3. |
Disconnect battery
Note: The battery must
not be disconnected until all consumers (e.g. fan) have ceased
operation. Minimum wait time is 30 sec.

Detach ground connection from ground terminal
|
|
4. |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)
• |
Unclip wiring harness from bracket
|
|
5. |
Disconnect engine control unit wiring harness plug (3)
|
|
|
6. |
Detach engine control unit from bracket
• |
Release 2x bracket in direction of arrow
|
|
Install
7. |
Attach engine control unit to bracket
• |
Clip engine control unit into bracket
|
|
8. |
Connect engine control unit wiring harness plugs
• |
Apply and lock wiring harness plug
|
|
9. |
Fix wiring harness plug
• |
Clip wiring harness into bracket
|
|
10. |
Connect ground cable to battery
|
11. |
Upload control unit data with TECH 2
Note: When replacing
the engine control unit, observe the service plan .

Connect TECH 2 with diagnostic plug
|
• |
Establish communication with TECH2
|
• |
Disconnect TECH 2 from diagnostic plug
|

Program volatile memories
