Remedy:
In case of customer complaint be aware of the following:
Once the DTC: P1901(7) is set in COMBINATION with P2003(7) Tech 2
will not allow performing a service regeneration.
This functionality was blocked due to the risk of a thermal incident.
In case the DTC´s were erased by Tech 2 a service regeneration will
be possible again but is not recommended because of mentioned
possible consequences. The only solution is to replace the DPF.
Please do not forget to record DPF replacement in ECU.
It is essential to resolve the cause of the clogged DPF
(refer to TSB 1976) and/ or to check driving profile
(e.g. excessive short distance driving).
Note:
In case of customer complaint ask customer about personal driving
pattern. In case of unfavourable customer driving profile advice
customer that the diesel particulate filter needs regeneration
(cleaning). This only works when a certain profile is applied,
e.g. driving approximately 15 minutes when engine is warm. In order
to avoid damages to the DPF system customer has to ensure that
approximately all 500 km a proper regeneration will take place.
As of TIS 2000-DVD, version 75 a new SPS software is available which
will advice the customer with a flashing glow indicator in
instrument to change driving pattern (as mentioned in the
service manual).
