| Complaint |
Customer complain about the following issues
(separate or combined) . Cruise control without function. Engine
revs up during gear change. P0573 and/or P0833 might be set in ECM
as well. |
| Cause |
The engine management system monitors the
clutch switch. If the vehicle is accelerated from 0- 40 mph and in
four out of five times a clutch switch status change is not
recognised, the failure code will be stored. |
| Production |
A new more robust ECU software has been
introduced in production as of September 2011. |
Remedy
In case of customer complaint, check the function of the
clutch switch on Tech 2 data list.
The status should change after a pedal travel of 10 mm.
Additionally reflash the ECM with latest software version
which is more robust.
If necessary, carry out test drive with the customer and
recommend as stated in the Owner’s Manual under
Driving and Operating (manual transmission)
“When operating, depress the clutch pedal completely.
Do not use the pedal as foot rest”.
