Replace gasket of end shield cover (F13+/F13+
MTA/F17+)
 Remove
| 1. |
Remove front left wheel
|
| 2. |
Remove end shield cover
Note: Place collecting
pan underneath - transmission fluid will escape

Unscrew 9 bolts (arrows)
Note: If necessary,
release the end shield cover by striking it gently with a rubber
mallet.

Only for metal cover with separate gasket: remove gasket cover
end shield
|
|
|
|
| 3. |
Check all components for damage
Note: Replace damaged
parts.

| 4. |
Clean sealing surfaces.
| • |
Remove sealant residues
|
|
Install
Important: Note close tolerance
bolts.
|
| 5. |
For metal cover with separate gasket: attach gasket cover end
shield
| • |
Fit end shield cover to transmission housing with new
gasket
|
| • |
Tighten 4x M7 bolts (arrows) 15
Nm
|
| • |
Tighten 5x M8 bolts (arrows) 20
Nm
|
|
| 6. |
For plastic cover with integral gasket: Attach new cover end
shield
| • |
Tighten 4x M6 bolts (arrows) 8
Nm
|
| • |
Tighten 5x M8 bolts (arrows) 20
Nm
|
|
|
|
| 7. |
Fit left front wheel
| • |
Tighten front wheel 110 Nm
|
|
| 8. |
Check transmission fluid level and correct if necessary
|
