Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct (F13+/F17+)

Note:   Account must be taken of the fact that ex works the transmission fluid level may always be below the checking aperture – up to approx. 20 mm . The transmission fluid level need only be checked and corrected, if necessary, after repair and maintenance operations on the transmission.

  Remove

1.   Remove fluid check bolt (arrow)
Note:   Inspection aperture on rear left in direction of travel.

2.   Check transmission fluid level
Note:   Transmission must be filled up to the lower edge of the inspection aperture.
3.   Remove reversing lamp switch (1)
Note:   Only if transmission fluid needs to be topped up.
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug, reversing lamp switch

4.   Top up with transmission fluid until it emerges at the inspection aperture

  Install

5.   Attach fluid check bolt to transmission
•   Tighten bolt 4 Nm + 45° to 135°
6.   Attach reversing light switch to transmission with new seal ring
•   Tighten switch 40 Nm
•   Connect wiring harness plug for reversing lamp switch
