Replace side airbag wiring harness (OPC)

Important:   Replace or repair wiring harnesses observing the safety regulations of electrics/electronics.

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Remove front seat

3.   Unlock and remove wiring harness at compact plug
•   Remove wiring harness fixing (1)
•   Open compact plug
– Release 4x retaining lugs (2) and (3)
•   Disconnect the cable tie (4)
•   Release wiring harness and remove
– Release 2x retaining lugs (5)
– Remove wiring harness

4.   Separate wiring harness at lower seat cushion
•   Cut 2x cable tie (1)

5.   Detach panelling left front seat backrest LUREF_1.gif
6.   Detach wiring harness (1) for side airbag on front seat backrest
•   Release wiring harness plug (2) and disconnect
•   Detach 3x cable tie (arrow)

  Install

7.   Attach wiring harness for side airbag to front seat backrest
•   Attach 3x cable tie
•   Connect wiring harness plug and latch
8.   Attach panelling left front seat backrest LUREF_1.gif
9.   Position wiring harness for side airbag
10.   Lay wiring harness at lower seat cushion
•   Connect 2x cable tie
11.   Insert wiring harness in compact plug
•   Insert wiring harness plug
– Lock in 2x retaining lug
•   Connect the cable tie
•   Close compact plug
– Lock in 4x retaining lug
12.   Install front seat
13.   Connect battery
