Vehicle Identification plate

The vehicle identification plate includes special information about paint quality and the colour of the vehicle.

The vehicle external colour is given a 3 digit colour number or a 2 digit colour code and complemented with "L" (internal code) according to assembly plant.

3 digit codes:

Letter "E"          =       Enamel/synthetic resin paint

Letter "A"          =       Acrylic/thermoplastic acrylic

                                    paint

3 digit no.          =       Colour code

Example:

E 474                 =       Synthetic resin paint, colour

                                    "Casablanca White"

2 digit codes:

General synthetic resin paint.

2 digit numbers = colour code

Example:

10L colour "Casablanca White"

The P & A Department has reference lists for colour designations and colour codes in the microfiche "GENERAL ACCESSORIES (SURVEY OF COLOURS)".
