Camshaft , Replace
Relieve tension in toothed belt and remove.
See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".
Remove camshaft gear and front plate.
See operation "Front Seal Ring in Camshaft Housing,
Replace".

Unscrew camshaft bearing cover and remove camshaft.
|
|
|
Coat all bearing surfaces on camshaft and cylinder head with
engine oil.
Position camshaft with alignment pin upwards.
|
|
|
Apply Sealing Compound
15 03 294 (90 001 851) to 1st camshaft bearing.
Ensure that no sealing compound comes into contact with the
cams of the camshaft.
|
|
|
Attach bearing cover and tighten nuts in stages in the order
shown.
Prescribed torque: 25 Nm/18 lbf. ft.
|
|
|
Install new camshaft seal ring with KM - 660.
Install front plate and camshaft gear.

Install toothed belt and tension it.
See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".
|
|
|
Check valve clearance.
See operation "Valve Clearance, Check and Adjust".
