Main Shaft, Assemble > < End Shield with Main Shaft, Drive Shaft, Remove and Disassemble (F10/5,F13/5 MT)

 

 

Main Shaft, Disassemble

 

If there is damage to a gear on the main shaft, the corresponding gear cluster must also be replaced.

 

Use a suitable drift to remove ball bearing, spacing washer and 1st gear.

Remove the retaining ring in front of the ball bearing beforehand.

 

For F 13 and F 10 as of Model Year '86: Remove thrust bearing assembly between ball bearing and 1st gear cluster.

 

Remove synchromesh body for 1st and 2nd gear and the 2nd gear, using KM - 307 - B.

Remove the retaining ring in front of the synchromesh body beforehand.

 

 

Object Number: 2373937  Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Remove the main shaft gear from the main shaft using KM - 307 - B and a suitable drift.

Remove the retaining ring in front of the main shaft gear beforehand.

Always replace the ring gear and main shaft gear as a pair.

Use KM - 479 - A to press off spacing washer and 4th gear.

Insert KM - 479 - A into groove of 4th gear for this.

 

 

Object Number: 2374103  Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Press off synchromesh body for 3rd and 4th gears as well as 3rd gear itself.

Remove the retaining clip in front of the synchromesh body beforehand.
