Subject: Accessory alarm installed to Transco Vehicles

Condition The accessory alarm installed to combo vans, operated by Transco interface with the vehicle central locking. In the event of a problem occurring with the central locking , the information below will help in determining if the problem is with the original equipment or with the alarm.
Alarm / Central Locking Interface On Vauxhall Corsa Combo Vans
Interface Details
interface location: Nearside footwell, behind kick panel in front of the door hinge.
1. Alarm wire colour - Grey / Black. Connected into Brown / Red wire on vehicle. Signal to LOCK (Switched negative pulse) 2. Alarm wire colour - Brown / Black. Connected into Brown / White wire on vehicle. Signal to unlock (Switched negative pulse)
Testing / Fault Finding
If central locking fails to operate:
1. Check remote control ‘LED’ does come on, does the alarm arm / disarm? (Indicators flashing signify alarm setting) If answer Yes - Try test No. 2 If answer No - Check internal battery, replace if necessary. If still not arming / disarming, Call PHH to organise alarm engineer. 2. Does the vehicle centrally lock using the key in the drivers door? If answer is Yes - Problem is likely to be an alarm fault. If answer is No - Problem is likely to be a vehicle fault. 3. Technicians only:
As a final test, if the 2 x interface wires are removed from the vehicle wiring loom i.e. Grey / Black, Brown / Black removed from Brown / White. This will prove if fault is alarm or vehicle related.
