Remove
Non-destructive removal of glass
- The tools specified work like a wire cutting tool.
- Height / breadth of adhesive bead should not be less than 13 mm / 8
mm
- If this geometry is not adhered to, additional cost or damage,
e.g. to vulcanised trim strips and paintwork, will result
- Protect heat conductor connections.
Check paintwork
- Check paint - particularly in the area of the body frame -
after removal
- Clean areas of bare metal, apply primer, apply top coat
- Repair small areas of surface damage with a touch-up pen
Note: Under no
circumstances use glass primer (corrosion will form). The glass
primer is only used as protection from UV light and consequently is
only applied to the glass pane.
Glass pane
- Treat new panes of glass with glass primer in the areas to be
bonded with adhesive
- Where the glass has already been cut out, when reinstalling do
not apply any adhesive to the PU-vulcanisation or to cut residues
of adhesive (poor adhesion)
- Apply new adhesive in accordance with instructions, lay glass
in body frame and fix with fibre tape.

Comply with lay-over times for glass depending on type of glass
and vehicle equipment (airbag)

Safety: Comply with lay-over times, freshly bonded vehicles, read
section on checking the expiry date of the adhesive before using
