Door Foil (Water Vapour Barrier).

General:
During assembly work on the vehicle doors, it is often
necessary to remove the door foil (water vapour barrier) completely.
In this case, new door foil must be cemented in order to
ensure correct sealing.
The Parts and Accessories Department supplies door foil
(PVC - based) by the meter and double - sided adhesive tape
(acrylate - based).
Foil roll (50 m, 140 cm / 50 in. wide);
adhesive tape (33 m roll)

Cutting Foil:
Cut foil using the removed water vapour barrier as a
stencil.
If the removed foil is not in good enough condition to be
used, cut new foil according to the contours of the door.
Make apertures for loudspeakers, door actuation handles and
cables as required by the vehicle equipment.

Water Vapour Barrier, Install:
Stick adhesive tape to door frame according to contours of
door or residual adhesive.
Important: After attaching the adhesive tape, the
protective backing must be removed. Ensure that the adhesive tape is attached
without bubbles and has 100 % contact.

Install water vapour barrier.
Ensure that foil is attached without wrinkles. The foil
must lie firmly on the adhesive surface. The foil can be pressed on with a
roller.

|
If necessary, heat foil slightly with industrial hot air
dryer to create space for moulded parts (e. g. door inner panelling).
