Function Check

To eliminate the possibility of incorrect operation, carry out the following function check of the electrically adjustable seats before trouble-shooting or removing seats.

·   Check battery voltage; it should be higher than 11.5 V.

·   Check fuse F5. The seats are always supplied with voltage (via Ter. 30).

·   Ensure that driver's/co-driver's seat can move freely in footwell area, at seat console, behind backrest and in front of seat surface.

·   Electrically adjust driver's/co-driver's seat in all 8 directions by pressing the seat adjustment switch in the direction indicated by the arrows.

Seat longitudinal

adjustment                             forwards/back                (7,2)

Backrest                                forwards/back                (4,5)

Seat front height                     up/down                         (1,8)

Seat rear height                      up/down                         (3,6)

Object Number: 2390845 Size: DEFAULT

Note:

The seat front and rear height can also be adjusted simultaneously, downwards in switch direction (9) and upwards in switch direction (10). For this, press the switch horizontally down or up.

The driver's/co-driver's backrest can only be folded back by about 90° if the seats were previously moved as far forward as possible (seat longitudinal adjustment completely "forwards").

·   When the desired final seat adjustment is attained, release switch to avoid overheating the motor and unnecessarily discharging the battery.

Note:

The motors are not automatically switched off when the seat adjustment end positions are attained. When an overload is caused by having the switch kept pressed down, when the switch jams, when an obstruction is met or because of mechanical stiffness, the overload protection of the affected motor responds. The current supply is automatically interrupted for a brief period of time.

If a malfunction is detected during the function check, the test steps required for trouble-shooting and fault remedies can be determined from the trouble-shooting table for mechanical and electrical faults.
