Motors with Potentiometers for Seat Adjustment

Like the electric seat adjustment without memory, memory seats are powered by four motors.

In addition, potentiometers are attached to the motors, which constantly report the current seat position to the control unit.

The motors are equipped with overload protectors.

If the seats meet an obstruction, the voltage supply to the motors is interrupted.

If the motor for longitudinal adjustment should malfunction, the front seat can be adjusted with an emergency crank stored in the vehicle tool kit.

Note:

If replacement of a motor for seat height adjustment is necessary when the front seat is in the lowest position, the relevant transfer pipe must be separated at the middle (sawn through).

The operations are described in the Service Instructions, group C.
