Remedial Test Steps

 

The following repair operations for fault elimination must be performed as specified in the Omega-B Service Instructions, group C.

Fasten front seat to vehicle floor with 4 new bolts.

Remove front seat and bolt firmly to seat console.

Remove panelling from front seat. Check seat adjustment switch and seat panelling for material damage. Replace defective parts. Fasten switch in such a manner that all switch functions can be performed without jamming when panelling is installed.

Remove front seat. Clean lower and upper seat console rails and regrease. Before installing seat, check that upper and lower rails can slide smoothly.

Remove front seat. Check drive mechanism for dirt, jammed foreign bodies and material faults. Replace defective parts. Check that motor is firmly seated and check function of transfer pipe. If drive mechanism is okay, replace motor.

Remove front seat. Disassemble seat console and re-assemble as specified in Service Instructions. Always make sure that the upper and lower rails are flush on top of one another.

Remove front seat. Check that anti-submarining switch is firmly seated. Examine mechanism for actuation of the switch for material faults and check function. Using multimeter (ohmmeter), check electric switchover function. Replace defective parts.

Remove front seat. Check motor, flexible cable, gears and fastening parts in front seat backrest for firm seating and material faults. Replace defective parts. Check drive mechanism for easy movement. If drive mechanism is okay, replace motor.

Remove front seat. Check assembly of motor, flexible cable and gears, and also assembly of front seat backrest, front seat backrest panelling and upholstery as described in Service Instructions.

Move front seat forwards or backwards with emergency crank until relevant front seat fastening bolts can be loosened.
