Stabiliser and/or all Rubber Parts of the Stabiliser, Replace

  Remove

Raise vehicle. Unbolt swing arm from semi-trailing arm.

Vehicles with vehicle level control: Mark position of lever (2) relative to console (1).

Disconnect wiring harness plug (4) for both wheel sensors and clip from vehicle sub-frame – take note of cable arrangement.

Support hydraulic jack with KM-485 under rear differential and unbolt rear damping blocks (3) from vehicle underbody.

Lower rear axle with hydraulic jack until fastening bolts of stabiliser on upper side of rear axle body are accessible.

Unbolt stabiliser bracket (5) from rear axle body (illustration shows rear axle removed for clearer representation). Remove stabiliser over rear axle body. Remove retaining shackle and rubber dampers.

  Install

Guide stabiliser over rear axle body and insert.

Caution

Stabiliser must not touch rear axle body. If necessary: Before tightening bolts, align stabiliser by levering between rear axle body and stabiliser.

  Install

Attach stabiliser onto rear axle body – tightening torque 22 Nm / 16 lbf. ft.

Lift rear axle with hydraulic lifter and install damping blocks on vehicle underbody – tightening torque 65 Nm / 48 lbf. ft.

Vehicles with vehicle level control: Bolt lever for actuation rod of sensor to console of right semi-trailing arm – note installation position of lever.

Connect wiring harness plug for both wheel sensors and clip onto vehicle sub-frame – take note of cable arrangement.

Attach swing arm to control arm – tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.
