  Remove

Release clips (top arrows) for footwell panelling and pull footwell panelling from bracket (1). Remove heating and ventilation duct (bottom arrow).

  Install

Install Brake Pedal Tensioner KM-325 or commercially available tool between frame of driver's seat and brake pedal.

  Remove

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from brake light switch. Pull actuating pin and retaining sleeve completely out of switch housing.

Compress both locking tabs (2) with angled long-nosed pliers and remove brake light switch.

Note:   Illustration shows removed brake light switch.

If the retaining sleeve (3) is not pulled far enough out of the switch housing, the locking tabs cannot be pressed far enough together and the brake light switch cannot be removed undamaged.

  Install

Pull out actuating pin (2) and retaining sleeve (1) completely, insert brake light switch in pedal support and push retaining sleeve (1) into brake light switch. Connect wiring harness plug.

Caution

Do not push actuating pin into brake light switch.

  Remove

Remove brake pedal tensioner.

  Adjust

After removing brake pedal tensioner push back the actuating pin into correct position using the brake pedal and adjust.

  Install

Install heating and ventilation duct with fastening bolt (bottom arrow). Push footwell panelling into guide (1) and fasten with clips (top arrows).

  Inspect

Brake lights should illuminate when pressing brake pedal down after approx. 15 ± 5 mm pedal travel.
