Subject: Engine - Low power when driving off

Models:	Engines:	Option:
Omega-B 1994...	U25DT	U25DT

Complaint:	Low-power when driving off, especially at high ambient temperatures.
Cause:	Air circulation insert in front bumper without airslots. Engine control unit modified and connection cover at fuel tank changed.
Production:

Remedy:

If not installed, install air circulation insert with airslots.
Replace ECU and and connection cover at fuel tank.

Measures against low-power when driving off, especially at high
ambient temperatures:

1. Replace ECU:
   vehicles with MT Cat./Part No. 90 94 766/(90 512 701)
   vehicles with AT Cat./Part No. 90 94 767/(90 512 702)

Note: Adjust max. quantity-trim to 0 percent with TECH1.

2. Replace mounting cover of fuel tank:
   Cat./Part No. 90 94 788/(90 512 984)

   Connect fuel feed hose at mounting cover to hose connector 
   marked "S" and fuel return hose to hose connector marked with 
   arrow.

3. If not fitted, install air circulation insert:
   right  Cat./Part No. 14 02 906/(90 435 370)
   left   Cat./Part No. 14 02 905/(90 435 369)

Service Department has to be informed if this remedy is not successful.
