Intake Bridge, Remove and Install
 Remove
|
Remove intake plenum – see operation "Intake Plenum,
Remove and Install (X 25 XE, X 30 XE)" or "Intake Plenum, Remove
and Install (Y 26 SE, Y 32 SE)". Depressurise fuel using Fuel
Pressure Gauge KM-J-34730-91 via test connection – collect
escaping fuel in suitable container. Remove fuel return line (1)
and fuel feed line (2) from fuel distributor pipe adapter. Fuel
escapes – observe safety measures and national
legislation.
Separate wiring harness plug for knock sensor and remove from
bracket.
Disconnect multiple plug from injectors cable bundle. Detach
vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
Remove 6 fastening bolts (3) for intake bridge from intake
flange.
Remove intake bridge.

Remove seal rings (1) from intake flange.
Install
Place new seal rings (1) on intake flange (3x2).
Place intake bridge on intake flange – do not fasten.
Attach fuel supply and return lines to fuel distributor pipe
adapter – tightening torque 15 Nm / 11 lbf. ft.
Fasten intake bridge to intake flange – 20 Nm / 15 lbf.

Connect multiplug for injector cable bundle. Attach vacuum hose
to fuel pressure regulator.
Connect wiring harness plug for knock sensor and connect to
bracket.
Install intake plenum – see operation "Intake Plenum,
Remove and Install (X 25 XE, X 30 XE)" or "Intake Plenum, Remove
and Install (Y 26 SE, Y 32 SE)".
