General

 

The Omega - B is available with the following engine range:

 

-      20 SE, X 20 SE (2.0i) with 85 kW (115 HP)

-      X 20 XEV (2. 0i 16V) with 100 kW (136 HP)

-      X 25 XE (2.5i V6) with 127 kW (170 HP)

-      X 30 XE (3. 0i V6) with 155 kW (210 HP)

-      25 DT (2.5 TD) with 96 kW (130 HP)

 

The exceptional features of these engines are:

 

-      high torque and specific output

-      low fuel consumption

-      low exhaust emissions

-      minimal friction

-      low noise

-      long life

-      good maintenance properties

-      low weight

-      compact construction.

 

All of the petrol engines are new developments and fulfil the stricter exhaust emission limits. They are equipped with knock control and therefore do not require RON coding plugs.

 

All 4-valve engines from the ECOTEC series are equipped with surface gap spark plugs which must only be replaced every 60,000 km / 37, 500 miles.

 

The engines are cooled by electric fans which require less power than normal visco - fans diesel engines: visco - fan and electric fan).
