Lower Part of Oil Pan, Remove and Install
Install
Suspend engine on engine bridge MKM-883-1 (1) in combination
with securing hook KMK-833-4-A - monitor chain tension.
Remove
Disconnect ground cable from battery.
Remove oil drain bolt (2) – collect escaping engine oil in
suitable container.

For vehicles with xenon headlamp: Disconnect wiring harness plug
from vehicle level control sensor (2). Remove ball head (1) from
vehicle level control sensor.
Remove centre tie rod from steering arm and idler using KM-236-B
(3) and carefully lower.

|
Remove fastening nuts (2) and (4) from engine damping blocks and
front axle body.
Raise front axle body with hydraulic jack.
Loosen front fastening nuts (1) and (3) by approx. 4 rotations
(do not remove).

|
Remove fastening nuts (1) and (2) and carefully lower front axle
body approx. 10 cm – note different bolt lengths.
|
|
Disconnect wiring harness plug for dynamic oil level control
(1).
Remove dynamic oil level control snap ring (2).
Dismantle lower part of oil pan (3) from upper part of oil pan
and remove with dynamic oil level control.

Clean
Clean sealing surfaces, remove gasket residue.
Caution
When replacing lower part of oil pan:
Convert dynamic oil level control (1) – tightening torque
8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Install
Replace dynamic oil level control wiring harness plug seal ring
(2).
Install lower part of oil pan with new seal ring and dynamic oil
level control.
Insert dynamic oil level control wiring harness plug in upper
part of oil pan and install snap ring.
Attach lower part of oil pan with new gasket and new screws to
upper part of oil pan – tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft. +
30°.
Connect wiring harness plug for dynamic oil level control.

Attach oil drain bolt to lower part of oil pan with new seal
ring.
For version with hexagonal bolt – tightening torque 45 Nm
/ 33 lbf. ft.
Version with inner torx bolt – tightening torque 10 Nm /
7.5 lbf. ft.
Raise front axle body – engine damping blocks must sit in
front axle body with guide pins.
Install front axle body – see operation "Front Axle Body,
Remove and Install" in group "E".
Install engine damping blocks on front axle body –
tightening torque 55 Nm / 40.5 lbf. ft.
Install centre tie rod with new fastening nuts on steering arm
and idler – tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft.
For vehicles with xenon headlamp:
Install ball head on vehicle level control sensor and connect
wiring harness plug to vehicle level control sensor.
Caution
After removing and installing, or after replacing the sensors,
it is necessary to calibrate using TECH 2 – see relevant
Checking Procedures.
Install
Top up with specified volume of engine oil.
Remove
Remove engine bridge MKM-883-1 with securing hook
MKM-833-4-A.
Inspect
Start engine and allow it to run until oil pressure telltale
extinguishes. Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.
