 Remove
Remove front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front
Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".
Note: The lateral
deflection of the toothed belt on the tension side (I) between the
toothed belt guide roller and camshaft sprocket "4" should not
exceed 1 cm/0.4 in.
Inspect
The toothed belt tension is correct if mark (1) is approx. 3 to
4 mm above mark (2). The markings of run-in toothed belts must not
align exactly. Mark (1) must not be below mark (2) under any
circumstances. If the toothed belt tension is not correctly
adjusted - see operation "Toothed Belt Tension, Adjust" or "Toothed
Belt Tension, Adjust (modified toothed belt drive)".
Install front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front
Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".
