This check can be performed in
two operating conditions: "ignition ON, engine OFF" or "engine
running at idle speed".
The first part of the check
should be performed if the engine cannot be started; otherwise the second
part ensures accurate diagnosis.
Check 1:
Ignition ON
Engine OFF

Press key F5 in the system
main menu, select the desired test using the arrow keys and confirm with YES.
Follow the instructions in the
TECH 1 display.
Note:
The secondary air pump is
actuated at a frequency of 0.5 Hz (actuation duration 1 s).
The check is completed after a
maximum of 30 s.
Check 2:
Engine running at idle speed

The TECH 1 display
shows alternately:
ACTIVE 0V
INACTIVE 12V
Noise check:
Clicking noise from relay Air
injection audible in engine compartment
