The characteristic curves of each individual hot film mass air flow meter are subject to physically unavoidable tolerances. To be able to measure fuel quantities precisely, the accuracy of measurement must lie within a few percentage points of the measured value. To meet this requirement, the signal from the hot film mass air flow meter is individually corrected in the electronic part.
To ensure regular air flow to the measurement resistors, the air intake area of the hot film mass air flow meter has a honeycomb - shaped element and a grid.

If external damage or deformation is apparent on the honeycomb element or the grid, replace the hot film mass air flow meter.
