Note:     Throttle valve potentiometer P34 is used to determine the position and motion of the throttle valve.

              TECH 1 checks the signal voltage at Ter. 26 of the control unit.

 

Notes on Trouble - shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

 

·     Ignition On. Disconnect plug from throttle valve potentiometer

greater than 4.9 V

·     Short circuit between signal lead Ter. 3 and ground

·     Short circuit to ground in lead from control unit Ter. 26 to throttle valve potentiometer Ter. 3

·     Control unit defective

 

 

·     Bridge Ter. 3 with Ter. 1 in throttle valve potentiometer plug using adapter lead from KM - 609

0... 0.1 V

·     Lead interruption from

       -      control unit Ter. 26 to throttle valve potentiometer Ter. 3

       -      throttle valve potentiometer plug Ter. 1 to ground

·     Control unit defective

 

 

·     Using multimeter, measure voltage between Ter. 2 and Ter. 1 in throttle valve potentiometer plug

 

       Nominal values are attained

greater than 4.9 V

·     Lead interruption or short circuit to ground from control unit Ter. 34 to throttle valve potentiometer plug Ter. 2

 

·     Throttle valve potentiometer defective
