Features Specific to this System
The SIMTEC 56.0 / 56.1 engine management systems are equipped with self - diagnosis. This means:
If the SIMTEC control unit recognizes a system fault, it is stored after a certain period of time. Telltale H30 in the instrument illuminates whenever trouble codes are stored and the SIMTEC control unit switches to the emergency program if necessary. If required, the control unit uses stored replacement values which allow the vehicle to remain operational to the nearest workshop.
Note: If the SIMTEC control unit is in the diagnostic mode, i. e. TECH 1 is connected and the SIMTEC 56 system is selected, telltale H30 illuminates constantly. In this mode, the telltale does not necessarily indicate that a fault is stored.
Important: Trouble codes can only be deleted using TECH 1.
