Seal Ring in Front Camshaft Housing, Replace
 Remove
|
Remove toothed belt – see operation "Toothed Belt, Remove
and Install".
Remove wiring trough (1) from camshaft housing cover. Remove
crankcase vent hoses (2) and (3) from camshaft housing cover.
Remove camshaft housing cover from camshaft housing.
Remove camshaft pulley (4) – counterhold with open-ended
wrench on hex of camshaft. Edge out seal ring (5) with suitable
tool.
Caution
Do not damage sealing surfaces.
Install
Lightly coat sealing lip of seal ring with silicon grease
(white). Press seal ring with KM-422 (6) in camshaft housing
– use bolt and washer of camshaft pulley.

Install
Attach camshaft pulley to camshaft – counterhold with
open-ended wrench on hex of camshaft.
Torque
Camshaft pulley to camshaft – 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.
Install
Install camshaft housing cover at camshaft housing –
tightening torque 8 Nm / 6 lbf. ft.
Attach crankcase ventilation hoses and cable trough to camshaft
housing cover.
Install toothed belt – see operation "Toothed Belt, Remove
and Install".
