  Remove

Remove front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".

  Adjust

Turn the crankshaft in the direction of engine rotation to "1st Cylinder TDC" (mark 3) using the fastening bolt for the toothed belt drive gear. At the same time, notches (1) on the camshaft pulley and rear toothed belt cover must align. Turn crankshaft slowly and uniformly. Release fastening bolt for toothed belt tension roller and turn adjusting eccentric in direction of arrow (clockwise) until pointer (2) is located just before left stop. Mark running direction of the toothed belt for identification and remove toothed belt.

Note direction of rotation of toothed belt. Install toothed belt – ensure that tensioned side (I) is taut.

Note timing marks!

Adjust toothed belt tension – see operation "Toothed Belt Tension, Adjust".

Install front toothed belt cover – see operation "Front Toothed Belt Cover, Remove and Install".

Note:   Document the replacement of the toothed belt on the sticker provided.
