Damping Cover for Gearshift Lever, Replace
 Remove
|
Remove centre console – see operation "Centre Console,
Remove and Install (up to MY 2000)" or " Centre Console, Remove and
Install (as of MY 2000)" in group "C".
Remove rear air flow guide, if available: Remove fastening nut
(1) and remove front support (2). Remove fastening screw (3) and
remove rear support. Remove rear air flow guide.
Remove gearshift lever – see operation "Gearshift Lever,
Remove and Install".
Drill rivet from retaining frame with suitable drill. Remove
retaining frame and damping bellows from transmission tunnel.

Install
Install new damping bellows with the flat side down – the
arrow on the damping bellows points forward in the direction of
travel. Install retaining frame and fasten to transmission tunnel
with blind rivets.

Install gearshift lever – see operation "Gearshift Lever,
Remove and Install".
If available: Insert rear air flow guide and install front and
rear support.
Install centre console – see operation "Centre Console,
Remove and Install (up to MY 2000)" or " Centre Console, Remove and
Install (as of MY 2000)" in group "C".
