Loosen grub screw (1) from contact unit for steering and ignition lock. Pull off contact unit for steering and ignition lock (2).

Remove both fastening screws for switch housing.

Press in plastic tabs of lower steering shaft bearings and remove steering shaft from steering column. Remove steering shaft bearing from steering shaft.

Drill out fastening bolts (1) for steering and ignition lock using drill bit Ø 4.5 mm/0.18 in.

Extract both fastening screws (1) using standard screw extractor. Remove housing for steering and ignition lock.

Loosen and remove fastening screws (2, qty 4) for steering shaft bearing housing using chisel.

  Inspect

Check all parts for wear.

Tighten steering shaft bearing housing (1) with new bearing onto steering column and tighten housing for steering and ignition lock (2) onto steering shaft bearing housing until the screw heads shear off. Insert fastening screws with locking compound.

Insert steering shaft into steering column. Snap steering shaft bearing into steering column.

Insert cover disc. Install switch housing.

Insert contact unit for steering and ignition lock (4) and secure with grub screw (3).
