Loss of Car Pass

Condition

 

A new immobiliser with transponder is being gradually introduced as of Model Year 1995. Various data is required for diagnosis with TECH 1 and this data is listed in the new car pass for the vehicle (similar to the previous radio pass).

 

 

If the car pass is lost, this data can be requested from the Plant Security Investigation Department of Adam Opel AG, D-65423 Rüsselsheim, Fax++49 6142 77 8923 (Germany). This request will only be processed if accompanied by the enclosed form and proof of ownership.

 

 

Parts

 

Once the data is received, it can be entered in a blank car pass (part no.: 90 508 609 / catalogue no.: 1 39 802) and given to the customer.

Description of Car Pass

 

The car pass is available with the Opel and the Vauxhall emblems. In the introductory phase, only the car pass relevant for the new car will be issued with the vehicle documentation.

 

 

Thereafter, both versions of the car pass will always be issued.

 

 

For new vehicles, the car pass valid for the vehicle is filled out on the reverse, while the blank spaces of the unused car pass are filled out with bold "X".

 

 

Illustration F 1854 shows the delivery status (front and reverse) of a car pass valid for an Opel vehicle.

Positions 3 to 6 are not always printed during the introductory phase and must therefore be filled in by hand by the dealership.

 

 

The car pass that is valid for the vehicle is added to the vehicle documentation by the dealership, while the unused car pass is destroyed.

 

 

Service:

 

When car passes are reordered, both versions are blank. The data supplied by Adam Opel AG should be entered in the car pass valid for the vehicle and issued to the customer. The unused car pass should be destroyed.

 

 

During the introductory phase, a radio pass is enclosed with the radio as previously.

Instructions on Filling Out the form "Data Request, Car Pass"

 

To be provided by dealership:

 

The data requested under items 1 - 10 must be provided completely, including the authorised dealership number, the vehicle ident. number (VIN) and the engine type/number (engine type/no.).

 

 

Mark missing/desired data with a cross:

Complete the form by entering the data and signature/authorised dealership stamp and send it along with proof of ownership (vehicle identification or invoice) to the address provided in the form. The requested data will be sent by fax to the dealership that made the request after Opel has confirmed that the information is correct.

 

 

Important Instructions:

 

Only data corresponding to the delivery status of the vehicle ex works can be issued. Car pass data requests will only be processed if the first column is filled out completely, signed and sent to Adam Opel AG along with proof of ownership.

 

 

Information via telephone is only possible in exceptional circumstances via the National Service Centres.

 

 

As for the delivery of new vehicles, the customer must be informed about all features of the car pass that are relevant to vehicle security, for example, that the car pass should be kept in a safe place (not in the vehicle) and should be presented when an authorised Opel/Vauxhall workshop is visited. The exact phrasing can be found in the relevant Owner's Manual.
