Notes for Trouble-shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

(If nominal value is not attained)

 

·   Ignition OFF

 

 

·   Remove instrument assembly

 

 

·   Release 26-pin wiring harness plug and disconnect from MID

 

 

·   Ignition ON

 

 

·   Measure voltage between Ter. 6

lower than 1 V

·   Lamp switch assy. S 2.1 defective

    and ground:

 

·   Lead from S 2.1/Ter. 58K via fuse F26 to 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 6 has short circuit to + battery voltage

·   Switch on parking lamps

 

 

·   Measure voltage between 26-pin

higher than 11 V

·   Fuse F26 defective

    MID wiring harness plug Ter. 6 and  

 

·   Lamp switch assy. S 2.1 defective

    ground:

 

·   Lead from S 2.1/Ter. 58K via F26 to 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 6 is interrupted or lead has short circuit to ground

·   Measure voltage between 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 7 and ground:

 

 

Bottom stop

2,9 to 3,6 V

 

Top stop

11,5 to 13,5 V

·   Lead from S2.3/Ter. 58d to instrument Ter. 8 or to 26-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 7 is interrupted or has short circuit to ground

 

 

·   Dimmer potentiometer S2.3 defective

 

 

 

If nominal values are attained:

 

 

·   MID defective
