Note:

TECH 1 does not perform a function check of key "S" in the wash/wipe lever.

Notes for Trouble-shooting:

Nominal Value:

Cause of Fault:

(If nominal value is not attained)

·   Ignition OFF

·   Remove instrument assembly

·   Release and disconnect 12-pin MID wiring harness plug

·   Measure resistance between wiring harness plug Ter. 6 and ground:

higher than 100 kW

·   Lead from 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 6 to switch S63.2/Ter. B has short circuit to ground

·   Switch S63 defective

·   Press key "S" of switch (S63) in wash/wipe lever

·   Measure resistance between wiring harness plug Ter. 5 and ground:

lower than 2 W

·   Lead from 12-pin MID wiring harness plug Ter. 6 to switch S63.2/Ter. B is interrupted

·   Switch S63 defective

·   Lead from switch S63/Ter. C to ground is interrupted

If nominal values are attained:

·   MID defective
