Checking with TECH 1

 

TECH 1, Connect to Vehicle

 

Before connecting TECH 1 to the diagnostic plug in the passenger compartment, observe the TECH 1 Operating Instructions.

 

 

          ·   Ignition OFF

          ·   Connect TECH 1

          ·   Ignition ON

 

 

TECH 1 displays in the relevant language:

 

 

        ·   Answer

              OPEL/VAUXHALL

      OMEGA-B 1994 ECU with "YES"

 

 

        ·   SELECT MODEL YEAR:199 (enter "4" for 1994)

 

 

          and then confirm with "YES".

 

 

Reject the following displays with "NO" until the following display appears:

 

 

        ·   SELECT

      ELECTRONIC

      BODY SYSTEM?

 

 

Answer this query with "YES".

 

 

In the following menu, select the item "TRIPLE INFO D." or "MULTI INFO D." with the arrow keys and confirm with "ENTER".

 

 

The TID or MID control unit is now stimulated by TECH 1 and the stored data is made available.

 

 

Compare the part numbers with the part numbers table in the Checking Procedures, confirm with the "YES" key.

 

 

Compare the program code with the Checking Procedures, (table 3), confirm with the "YES" key.

 

 

If one or more faults are stored in the TID or MID, they will be displayed on TECH 1.

 

 

Note trouble codes. Confirm with "YES" until the following menu appears:

 

 

SELECT MODE

F0:DATA LIST

F1:NOT USED

F2:TROUBLE CODE          Press key "F0"

 

 

Compare all test step data shown in the display with the following nominal values from sections 3.2 or 4.2 F0:DATA LIST.

 

 

Actuate the "EXIT" key and, if necessary, select F5:ACTUATOR TEST, F6:ADJUSTMENTS or F7:PROGRAMMING.

 

 

If there are deviations from the F0:DATA LIST nominal values, start trouble-shooting.

 

 

IMPORTANT:   The following TECH 1 displays always indicate the switch condition of the contact in question.

 

 

e.g.                  WASHER LEVEL SW.         CLOSED               means:

                        Contact closed = 0 volts,                  washer fluid level above min.

 

 

or                     WASHER LEVEL SW.         OPEN                   means:

                        Contact open = 12 volts,                      washer fluid level below min.
