Tailgate Wiring Harness, Remove and Install or
Replace

 Remove
Tailgate inner panelling – see operation "Tailgate Inner
Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "C". Release bracket (1)
for left load compartment cover, remove left D-pillar panelling
– arrows indicate retaining clip positions.

|
Open rear lamp cover, remove ground cable (1), release wiring
harness plug (2) and remove, disconnect antenna cable (3). Remove
left kink protection from tailgate and body, remove wiring harness
upwards from body.
Caution
Before removing the wiring harness, tie a string to the wiring
harness end for reinstallation.

Remove
Remove ground connection (1).
Release and disconnect wiring harness
plugs for:

Central door locking motor
|
|
3
|
Licence plate lamp (4x)
|
|
4
|
Rear screen wiper motor,
|
|
5
|
Rear screen heating
|
|
6
|
Centre brake light
|
|
7
|
Rear screen heating
|
|
8
|
Tailgate wiring harness separation point
|
Detach load compartment light switch, wiring harness plug.
|

Caution
|
Before removing the wiring harness, tie a string to the wiring
harness end for reinstallation.
Remove
Remove cable ties (arrow). Withdraw wiring harness from
tailgate.
Install
Pull wiring harness into tailgate using string. Route wiring
harness to tailgate and fasten at attaching points using cable
ties.
Attach ground connection (1).

Install

Connect wiring harness plugs to:

Licence plate lamp (4x)

Rear screen wiper motor,
|
|

|
Rear screen heating
|
|
6
|
Centre brake light
|
|
7
|
Rear screen heating
|
|

|
Tailgate wiring harness separation point
|
Attach load compartment light switch, wiring harness plug.
|
|
|
Install
Install wiring harness in body using
string. Connect wiring harness plugs to:

Wiring harness plug to body wiring harness
plug |
| 3. |
Antenna cable |
Close cover.
|
|
|
Install kink protection between body and tailgate. Install
tailgate trim panelling, D-pillar trim panelling and load
compartment cover holder.
