Work Procedure

Overview:  This procedure describes replacing the brake light switch on 1998 - 2002 model year New Beetle vehicles.

Switch ignition to off position
-

Remove 3 screws -1- securing cover -2- under dashboard on drivers side

-

Pull cover out of rear holding clips

-

Check brake light switch

-

If switch has a 2 pin electrical connector, no further work is required. Replace cover and secure with 3 screws, otherwise proceed to next step
