1. Engine overlay harness must be routed following factory harness behind fuel and evaporative emission tubes and into plastic clip (arrow) that

secures factory harness.

2. Continue overlay harness routing along original harness back to coolant reservoir.

3. Install new coolant reservoir.

4. Cut old coolant reservoir connector from original harness, fold and tape wires back to harness using vinyl tape.

5. Connect overlay harness connector to new coolant reservoir.

Vehicles equipped with 3 wire A/C high pressure switch (G65) 2000 and newer model year.

Inspect (G65) connector for contamination.

Cut brown/white wire, tape back to harness.

If no contamination is found:

1. Using red crimp connector, connect brown/white wire of overlay harness to brown/white wire of (G65) connector.

2. Reinstall connector (continue to fuel gauge sensor overlay harness, preparation).

If contamination is found:

-

Clean coolant from connector housing.

-

Using red crimp connector, install new wire/terminals to affected wiring.

Using red crimp connector, connect brown/white wire of overlay harness to correct (new) (G65) connector wire.

-

Replace (G65) switch, reinstall connector.

-

Heat shrink splices and tape harness using engine compartment cloth tape (continue to fuel gauge sensor overlay harness, preparation).

Note:

Vehicles with TDI engines do not use an in-tank fuel pump.

For vehicles with TDI engine, perform the following prior to installing harness:
