Connect multimeter between cyl. 1 glow plug harness connector and Ground then repeat checking sequence for cylinders 2, 3 and 4.

Specification: Battery voltage for approx. 20 secs.
If voltage present
-
Switch OFF ignition.
-
Disconnect harness connectors from glow plugs.

Connect VAG 1527B Voltage tester lead to Battery + using jumper wire from VW 1594 adaptor kit.

Touch tester probe to each glow plug, one after the other.

If diode lights up: glow plug OK
-
If diode does not light up: replace glow plug
-
Remove and install glow plugs using 3220 swivel socket.

Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ft lb)

Erase DTC memory. Refer to "Displaying and Reading Trouble Codes/With Manufacturers Scan Tool/DTC Memory Checking and Erasing",
