Pull harness through grommet to second assembly mark on harness.

Note:
You must also pull the single wire portion of engine overlay harness to the plenum along with main portion of overlay harness.

1998 m.y. only

Partially remove foam (arrow) where wiring harness from plenum routes through to engine compartment (under previously removed wiring
harness channel cover).

Continue overlay harness routing (single wire) in plenum to left side of vehicle route along existing harness to 10 pin connector (arrow).

Note:
Add wire Part No: 000 979 981 as necessary to reach connector.

Separate and inspect connector for contamination:

1. Clean connector housing as necessary, replace contaminated terminals as necessary (except cavity 9).

2. Remove pin (brown/white wire) from cavity 9 of this connector.

3. Go to all m.y.

1999-->2001 m.y.

Continue overlay harness routing (single wire) in plenum to 10 or 14 pin connector near ECM.

Inspect connector for contamination:

1. Clean connector housing as necessary, replace contaminated terminals as necessary (except cavity 9).
