Function description
The anti-theft alarm system triggers an acoustic alarm and switches on the emergency flashers. When the vehicle is locked, the alarm system monitors
and protects the following parts of the vehicle:
^
Radio
^
Engine compartment
^
Luggage compartment
^
Doors
^
Ignition
Windows and power sunroof are not monitored.
The alarm system is switched on automatically when the driver's or front passenger's door is locked with the key.
When the vehicle is locked, an indicator light on the driver's door window sill will flash and a "beep" will sound to confirm that the alarm system is
active and that all doors, the rear lid and the hood are properly closed.
If the light does not flash, or if the "beep" does not sound, check the doors, rear lid and hood to make sure that they are closed.
The system incorporates a delay of 2 seconds upon closing the rear lid.
When there is interference with any monitored part or system, the alarm system activates the acoustic horn and emergency flashers for approximately 165
seconds, then returns to the at rest but alert (active) state.
Duration of indicator light
The indicator light is an LED that blinks while the alarm is activated, for periods of up to seven days. After seven days the indicator light will switch off,
even though the alarm remains active. (1Hz, 5% cycle on)
