Crankshaft Main Bearing: Service Precautions

Crankshaft main bearing caps must not be interchanged. Crankshaft main bearing shells, if they are to be reused, should only be installed in their original
positions. 

Many of the fasteners used in the cylinder block are stretch bolts that must be replaced once loosened. Review the repair information to identify all bolts
and nuts that must be replaced during cylinder block reconditioning.
