NOTE:  The tool No. VAG 1752/1, or equivalent, spring compressor may be used in place of tool No, VAG 1403, spring compressor (shown).

WARNING:

As assembled, the coil spring is compressed and under load. Avoid personal injury by using a suitable spring compressor tool when
servicing the coil spring assembly.

If the tools shown in the image are unavailable, spring compressor US 1117 or equivalent can be used.

Always follow the manufacturers instructions for the tool you are using.
