Wheel Bearing: Adjustments

1.

Raise and support rear of vehicle, then remove the wheel/tire assembly.

2.

Remove grease cap, then the cotter pin and locknut.

3.

Tighten adjusting nut while turning wheel to settle bearings.

4.

Loosen, then retighten adjusting nut, until thrust washer can be moved slightly with screwdriver.

5.

Install locknut and new cotter pin, then the grease cap.

6.

Install wheel/tire assembly and lower vehicle to ground.
